Private Lessons
Private lessons take place in your home, where you and your dog are most comfortable, either in-person or via video lessons.
How many lessons should you expect? Most of my clients for obedience or behavioral modification average 4-6 lessons. Service dogs, given their high level of training, require more, generally around 20 from start to finish. All that said, every dog is an individual; if your dog already knows how to sit and stay, but is struggling with leash manners, I won’t waste your time or money on classes for sit and stay. Likewise, some service dog clients come to me with a dog who is already mostly prepped for the job, but needs a little help with a specific task. I will only ask for the lessons you and your dog truly need; this is why the evaluation is always the first step, to learn what you really need from me, and leave out the rest. While ‘packages’ are becoming increasingly common (and increasingly expensive) among many other trainers, I will always hold firm to the truth that every dog and every human are individuals, and deserve individual care and attention.

Boarding & Board and Train
Boarding is only available to students who have completed their evaluation and at least one lesson. Board and train is not a substitute for lessons involving the owner, but is an excellent addition to any training program to build your dog’s skills while you’re away or otherwise occupied.
“Daily” means a day that the dog is here, including the days of pick-up and drop-off. “Weekly” means a seven day block, i.e. Sunday to Saturday, not Sunday to Sunday. Combinations of boarding and board and train in a single stay can be done, but must be discussed prior to your dog’s stay.

A quick note: I sometimes get asked why my rates are so low, especially while it feels like everything is becoming so expensive and everyone is raising their prices to make ends meet. People with less than a year of experience, or no experience at all, frequently charge 50% more than I do. It’s simple: I believe that training should be affordable for anyone. Increasingly, people shy away from training because they believe it’s a luxury item. It’s only expensive because, frankly, trainers made it expensive out of pure greed, and the lack of oversight on the industry means that a lot of people get into it to make a quick buck without any concern for the dog or their owner. Training isn’t for those who can afford it, it’s a necessary part of responsible pet ownership, and my commitment to making sure that anyone can have it is unwavering. While I know my own value, I know the cost of making training unattainable. Dogs deserve better. People deserve better. Greed has no home with me, never will. If I can no longer afford to maintain my humble lifestyle, I will need to raise my rates… But until that day comes, my morals forbid me from doing so. They have stayed the same since 2018.
